product showcase

tot trends weekly

You bought a different brand of yogurt...and your kids will have nothing to do with it. You're excited to have them wear that new belt you bought (because you thought it was so super-cute)...and they refuse to even try it on. Children are so opposed to change! But just wait until big changes and transitions occur...bringing a new baby into the family or going away for the weekend without them. Eek!

We?ve found the perfect solution...CHANGE IS STRANGE is the name of a new book series developed by Ricki Booker. Ricki came up with the idea after helping her own daughter adjust to her and her husband going away on a trip. She did her homework, took educators? advice, and created a personal storybook that described the steps of transition and change of being away from mom and dad - and it worked!

Ricki teamed up with a qualified author, child developmental specialist, and illustrator to share her ideas...and they came up with her CHANGE IS STRANGE book series. They seemed to have tackled four of the most common changes and transitions children are faced with...the arrival of a new sibling, mommy and daddy going away on a trip, taking away the pacifier, and the all-important first day of school. Our favorite feature about the books is your ability to personalize each story...making it even more helpful and memorable!

The series is even popping up in celebrity homes...Courtney Cox and David Arquette and Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor received them as gifts from MTV; Denise Richards received "We?re Having a Baby" as a gift for her daughter Sam, while she was pregnant with little Lola; and they've also been featured in UsWeekly!

Ricki?s hope is "that CHANGE IS STRANGE enables children to turn the harsh transitions of life into lessons that they will remember -- and be able to read over and over." Go to ChangeIsStrange.com now to check out her fabulous site. You?re able to browse through a few pages of each book (and see for yourself why they were honored by Xerox for their brilliant printing innovation!), read helpful hints on each issue, and of course, customize your own book orders! Just think, you?re not only helping your little one ease through tough life experiences...but your relieving lots of headaches for yourselves, too!

(Write us after you?ve had a chance to try them out! We'd love to hear from you...and learn how your child adjusted!)

tot trends weeklyCrafty isn't the only praise you'll give this company after receiving their vintage-style knitwear. The New Zealand-based company ShesCrafty specializes in creating heirloom knits...all by hand. There?s a genuine feel to their products; one that's hard to find these days. Their garments are made with the world?s finest merino wool from small farms in New Zealand...so it?s super-soft and won?t irritate baby?s skin with harsh dyes or chemicals.

Hadley Fierlinger created ShesCrafty with the desire to produce genuine, high-quality babywear...and boy has she done it! Little ones all over the world can be seen wearing their collection of classic knits - including celebrity babies like Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Brodrick?s little boy James Wilke. Sarah Jessica was so thrilled with her gift that she phoned Hadley personally...with much appreciation and thanks.
