vintage threads
Designer duds for your little ones can get awfully expensive...especially with the dirt factor. We love Edens Bouquet's vintage line. Simply exquisite, they are beautiful heirloom pieces...but with a hefty price tag ($78 a top).
Oshkosh developed a line for Target called Genuine Kids which creates the same vintage look at less than a quarter of the price.
keepsake blankets
A blanket can become a child's most treasured companion and comforter. You, too, will want a blanket that will make cuddling all the more cozy and sweet. Lucky Jade Classic Collection Blankets are the ultimate in quality, luxury, and style....but at $240 they simply aren't for everyone. If you love the look and feel of Lucky Jade, take the plunge and splurge on this fabulous 100% cashmere keepsake. Perhaps you'll simply choose to designate it for home-use only...and grab another one of these similar, affordable, and more versatile blankets for trips and outings!
Take this ultra-soft David Fussenegger Reversible Polkadot Blanket. At an affordable $24 you'll get a lightweight blanket perfect for warmer summer outings. (Its luxury...when it gets dirty, simply throw it in the wash!)
The look for even less...is this plush Amy Coe Flutter Luxe Microfleece Blanket from her Limited Edition Mod Baby Collection at Target...just $9.99! (A perfect compliment to Coe's Flutter Bedding Collection, as well.)
essential burp cloths
Burb Cloths...essential items for new moms! Thankfully these days they come in a variety of colors, styles...and price ranges. If you're looking to splurge on mom-to-be, this 3 Marthas Pink Dot Burp Cloth ($13) is the perfect gift. Made from a heavy-weight cloth diaper and adorned with a patch of pizazz, it even comes complete with this beautiful pink grosgrain ribbon.
If you love the look but want to get a bit more for money, you can find the same look at Target. This 2pc Set Cloth Set ($9.99) is made from 100% cotton 2-ply flannel and features a similar look...just without the cute ribbon!
designer strolls
Bugaboo strollers are loved by celebrities, but not your bank account. With the Bugaboo Frog still available (but at its same steep price - in the $700 range) Bugaboo has added two new strollers to the mix....the Gecko and the Chameleon. These provide even more options for parents, but all of the options only increase its already steep price up to $900. Now, we all love the Bugaboo Strollers, but $900 on a stroller just isn?t feasible for some.
A great designer choice at a lower price is the Rock Star Baby Stroller by Infinity. This is a Limited Edition stroller that has many of the same features we love about Bugaboo. The lightweight frame (with two swivel front wheels) allow for easy maneuverability while the two pneumatic rear wheels provide comfort and allow for a smooth ride. Included in the price ($500) is the pram, air pump, rain cover, and adaptor for infant car seat. Just like the Bugaboo, the Rock Star Stroller has a height adjustable handle, so both mom and dad are comfortable and reversible seat, so baby can face you. This stroller has some star power behind it as well. Rock Star Baby is the brainchild of Tico Torres and Jon Bon Jovi!
Now finally, for those bargain shoppers who just love the look but refuse to spend the price...Fisher Price has created the perfect look-a-like. Their infant to toddler stroller can convert from forward-facing to rear-facing and has three reclining positions. Just like the more costly versions it is ultra lightweight for easy maneuverability and folds flat with front swivel wheels. In addition to its full cover canopy and adjustable handles for parents, there is a large storage basket. The only thing you are missing is the pram basket, but for $250 you couldn?t ask for more.
budget maternity styles
Liz Lange is a staple in the closets of pregnant celebrities. Lucky for thrifty mamas-to-be, she's teamed up with Target to deliver fabulous looks for those nine months without breaking the bank. The Tyra Dress at Liz Lange ($125) is a gorgeous soft jersey dress for a night out. The same look can be achieved withThe Liz Lange for Target line for only $22.50.
Lange for Target also offers these great gauchos, a must for summer pregnancies ($15.99). While Juliet Dream Gauchos are $88 at specialty stores.
Old Navy is another great place to shop when on a budget. This Old Navy Crochet Top is just $16.50 compared to the $82 version by Olian.
amy coe crib linens
Amy Coe has been in the children's industry now for years. Her introduction of vintage-inspired collections for nursery offers a fresh approach to nostalgic prints. Her name has simply become synonomous with children's bedding. Luckily for us, she teamed up with Target to bring those on a bugdet her fabulous vintage style and quality bedding at a much lower price!
Pamper baby with these Amy Coe Mini Dot and Gingham Crib Sheets ($42) or head over to Target to shop Coe's Limited Edition Mod Baby Collection. We love this adorable 200 thread-count Peanut Mini Dot Crib Sheet (just $9.99)! A perfect piece of Coe's Peanut Bedding Collection.
bath towels
Cuddle your little one in these beautiful towels by Two Tinas, available exclusively at Nordstroms. A hefty price for simply a towel ($42), yet a beautiful addition to the bathroom. These luxe towels are made from a plush double-sided blanket with a reversible flannel hood.
You can create the same look with the Hooded Bath Towels available at Target ($21.99). Great mod prints with real 100% looped terry.
